Sunday Services
Different people find different styles of service helpful, so we have two distinctive Sunday morning services:
9:30am - Traditional Service
11:15am - Contemporary All-Age Service with children's activities
We have refreshments in the church hall after the 9:30 service and in the main church at the start of the 11:15 service.
There are also many opportunities to serve and use your gifts in both services, so please do get involved!
VENUE: Christchurch, Oystermouth Road, Swansea SA1 3UH
Note: Some people find it easier to park and enter via the church hall entrance: Christchurch Hall, 167 Rodney St, Swansea SA1 3UE
PARKING: On Sundays, there is free parking (without a time limit) in the unmarked bays in the surrounding roads, or two hours free parking in the Civic Centre East Long Stay Car Park on the other side of the main road (Oystermouth Road). During the week, there is a 3-hour time limit on those bays until 6pm.
WHAT IS IT LIKE: You can expect a warm welcome, uplifting worship, relevant Bible teaching, and a friendly group of people who are growing as followers of Jesus. The 9.30 service is more formal and traditional in style with more traditional hymns and holy communion once a week. The 11.15 service is more informal and modern in style with a mix of modern and traditional music and holy communion once a month, and also a monthly "Sunday Funday" service where the kids stay in throughout the service and there is a free bouncy castle and community lunch afterwards.
We are steadily building teams to develop our kids, youth and student ministry. If you might like to serve on one of those teams, please have a chat with Rev Mark or Rev Ian.
For kids, we have regular holiday clubs and have also launched a weekly after-school kids club on Wednesday afternoons at Christchurch primary school. This is currently only available to children who attend that school, but we are looking to develop opportunities further in 2024.
For updates and information about our children's work please visit the Children's Ministry page.

GWASANAETH CYMRAEG
Welsh-language Service - St James Church, Uplands
Mae gwasanaeth Cymraeg yn cael ei gynnal ar y cyntaf, trydydd a phumed Sul yn y mis am 9 y bore. Dyma yw’r brif ddarpariaeth o wasanaethau Cymraeg Anglicanaidd yn Abertawe. Mae’r llyfryn yr ydym yn defnyddio yn ddwyieithog ac felly yn hawdd dilyn i’r rhai sydd ddim yn siarad Cymraeg, mae’n wir i ddweud bod cryn lawer o siaradwyr Saesneg yn unig ymysg ein cynulleidfa.
Felly os ydych wedi symud yn barhaol i Abertawe neu yn astudio dros dro yn y Brifysgol ac eisiau parhau eich addoli yn y Gymraeg, dyma yw’r lle i chi. Byddech yn sicr o gael croeso Cymreig cartrefol a chynnes!
Dewch i’n cyfarfod ni!
Translation:
A service through the medium of Welsh is held on the first, third and fifth Sunday of the month at 9.00am at our partner church, St James, Uplands. This is the main provision for Anglican Welsh services in Swansea. The booklet that we use for the service is bilingual so is easy to follow for those who do not speak Welsh, in fact we have quite a few English-only speakers in the congregation.
So if you have moved permanently to Swansea, here temporarily, or studying at the University and wish to continue your worship in Welsh, this is the place for you. You can be assured of a warm and homely Welsh welcome!
Do come and meet with us!
